The Everglades essays The Everglades is a unique wetland ecosystem on the margin of the tropics. Its slow flow of water supports grasslands, thick forests, and a diverse group of animal, fish, and bird. The Everglades originated between 8000 to 10,000 years ago at the end of the most recent of the ice age. The melting of the glaciers caused the sea levels to rise and form a low-lying basin into a swamp. The climate of the Everglades is tropical savanna caused by hot, wet summers and warm, dry winters. The average annual rainfall exceeds 50 inches. Cypress, mangrove thickets, palms, live oaks, pines and lush vegetation cover the numerous inlets. Wildlife, although severely reduced in number and diversity over the past century, is still abundant and includes alligators, American crocodiles, deer, wading birds, fish, snakes, and the endangered Florida panther. American crocodiles and alligators pretty much rule this amazing ecosystem and are no doubt at the top of the food chain. The American crock and the alligator are very much alike and many ways. The primary distinguishing feature between the two is seen in the snout, because alligators it is rounded but the crocks is more pointed. Also the crocks lower fourth tooth fits into a groove in the side upper jaw and, unlike the alligator, this tooth is visible with the mouth closed. An adult crock will grow to be about 10-12 feet. The diet of the two are a variety of foods including insects, crabs, crayfish, fish, frogs, snails, turtles, snakes, coots, grebes, wading birds, raccoons, otters, deer, and other alligators and crocks. They also feed on dead animals although they are carnivorous, they are occasionally seen uprooting vegetation evidently they do not eat the plant material, and may be catching crayfish, snails, and insects. White pelicans are amazing birds and weighing 10-13 pounds they have the second greatest wingspan of any bird in North America. It ...

What To Do If Youre Not Passionate About Anything You hear a bunch of people all around you talking about their passion and ââ¬Å"following their bliss,â⬠but all you hear is panic. What is your bliss? What if you donââ¬â¢t have one? Do you feel that everything you do is grey and lusterless? Do you find work boring? Is everything just kind of blah? Maybe you feel that you canââ¬â¢t be good at anything or passionate because you arenââ¬â¢t super talented or great at anything. Well thatââ¬â¢s just not the case. Itââ¬â¢s never too late to figure out what matters most to you, and to live a life of passion.Here are a few strategies to combat the ââ¬Å"mehâ⬠feelings that currently fill your life.1. Shift your view.A little perspective goes a long way. Release yourself from all the negative voices in your head holding you back and keeping you stuck.2. Think strategically.Figure out whatââ¬â¢s causing you the most frustration and dissatisfaction. Isolate that thing and start working towards bringing it down. Al l the while, start keeping a notebook of things that give you joy. And while youââ¬â¢re at it, start asking yourself what you wanted to be when you grew up. Why canââ¬â¢t you be that now? Start dreaming again.3. Get healthy.Your health is a major source of your wellbeing. Make sure youââ¬â¢re doing everything you can to be in your prime. Eat right, exercise, stay active. Make sure you sleep and make time for self-care. Get rid of toxic patterns and relationships.4. Stay curious.A great way to figure out what you want to devote your life to is to figure out what interests you most. If you havenââ¬â¢t hit upon it yet, that might be because you havenââ¬â¢t seen it yet. Start reading and being more open to new things. You never know where your passion might turn up.5. Think for yourself.Donââ¬â¢t just follow what the herd decides is ââ¬Å"cool.â⬠Figure out what you actually like. Dabble in all sorts of things. Push your comfort zone. Try new things more than onc e. If you like them, keep doing what youââ¬â¢re doing until you start to make some forward progress. If you donââ¬â¢t, cut your losses and move on. You might even find you meet new and deeply important friends when you start committing your time to things you truly enjoy.6. Be brutally honest.Ask yourself the tough questions about your unhappiness. The challenging soul searching and emotional work required will pay enormous dividends in the long run.7. Be confident.Believe that youââ¬â¢re doing the right thing when you find it. Youââ¬â¢ll know what that is if you only start listening to yourself. Push past your fear and find the fun in life. Take time to check in, smell the roses, and keep yourself honest. Your future self with thank you, and youââ¬â¢ll be living a life thatââ¬â¢s true to yourself. What could be better?
